ERC expansion chambers are designed to reduce and dissipate shock wave pressure in the ventilation systems of storage facilities and radiation shelters.
The chamber is installed in the ventilation system in the direction of the shock wave’s propagation, downstream of the explosion protection device.
Its purpose is to create additional volume in which the pressure of the shock wave is reduced and dissipated before it continues through the ventilation system.
The ERC consists of a metal cylindrical chamber with connecting pipes for linking to the ventilation system components.
- The housing is made of carbon steel with a RAL 7016 powder coating.
- The expansion chambers are installed in a vertical position and welded to plates fixed to the floor.
Air duct connections are made in accordance with the ventilation design directly during installation.
The ERC series comprises models with varying internal volumes and designs, allowing you to select a chamber that matches the ventilation system design and the required connection layout.
